LITTLE CAESARS LOVE KITCHEN HITS THE ROAD TO SERVE PEOPLE IN NEED ACROSS U.S.
The Little Caesars Love Kitchen wasted no time to reach people in need after the start of 2011. The Love Kitchen headed for South Carolina making stops along the way in Ohio at the City Mission in Findlay and the Salvation Army in Dayton, and in Tennessee at the Knoxville Area Rescue Ministries.
A total of 750 people from all three cities received hot, fresh Little Caesars pizza with the help of a franchisees, company operations and Love Kitchen driver Dave Fox. A franchisee in South Carolina increased that number by 1,000 people by hosting the South Carolina serving at the Washington Street United Methodist Church Soup Kitchen in his town of Columbia.
The Love Kitchen quickly hit the pedal back to Detroit for a special serving with Detroit Tigers pitchers Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer at the Capuchin Soup Kitchen where together they helped to feed nearly 400 people before beginning the annual S.A.Y. Detroit servings.
“Little Caesars created the Love Kitchen to provide quality meals for people who need them, and we’re honored to have the Detroit Tigers participate in a feeding and join us in giving back to our hometown,” said Brian Pattison, Midwest Zone vice president, company operations, Little Caesar Enterprises, Inc. “We are also proud to continue our support of S.A.Y. Detroit by serving soup kitchens and shelters in our community for the next two weeks.”
The Love Kitchen and the Detroit company operations market led by Brent Armstrong helped to feed nearly 2,500 people throughout the two-week S.A.Y. Detroit servings.
S.A.Y.(Super All Year) Detroit, a non-profit organization working to help the homeless population in metro Detroit, was founded by Mitch Albom in 2006 during Detroit’s hosting of Super Bowl XL. Little Caesars became involved with the organization when Ilitch Charities made a significant $150,000 contribution to fund an infant care center for Coalition on Temporary Shelters (COTS) in Detroit, which opened in 2008.
